Hoe Mill Lock

On 13th September 5 of us visited Hoe Mill Lock on the river Chelmer at Ulting. We all squeezed into Don's car as we knew there would be limited parking. Much fun was had with the seatbelts in the back!! When we reached the bridge just before the lock it felt a bit like we all needed to breathe in to get Don's car through the very narrow gap!

We were initially a bit disappointed to find there was a row of temporary fencing on one side of the lock, obscuring the obvious viewpoint for a decent picture. The land on the other side is private property, belonging to the camping site, so no access there.

However we took a few shots, then after walking up the river for a few hundred yards we came across a weir which offered a good opportunity for some pictures.

As usual we concluded our trip with coffee and brunch - this time in Morrisons Cafe.
